The tagline reads “A period drama with a “Twilight Zone” twist… and just a touch of the undead”, but if you go into it with that expectation, you’re going to be disappointed.
Certified positions itself firmly within the comedy side of horror and if you know that going it, it’s quite good. It plays on the expectation that rural life in the 1950s was idyllic and safe, except for the monsters lurking within the pages of the postman’s comics and a handful of Hitchcockian birds. That is, of course, until one Certified letter brings him to the home of a young girl with her own story to tell.
This short is very well made and tells a complete and concise story that left me completely satisfied. It is well worth 8 minutes of your time.
